MGTA 3014 - Managing Quality

This course focuses on the strategic aspects of adopting and implementing food quality and safety management systems within the realm of agribusiness. Students will gain insights into how these systems can be leveraged to enhance product quality, safeguard consumer trust, and drive competitiveness in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Through theoretical insights and real-world applications, students will learn the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) and discover how it intertwines with various stages of the food supply chain. Topics range from implementing robust food safety systems and harnessing the power of traceability technologies to combating food fraud and economic considerations inherent in adopting food quality and safety standards.
