LARC 2020 - Studio IV: Urban Design
3 Credit Hours
Explore the interrelationship of individuals and communities with the environments they inhabit. Appreciate how the critical issues of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA) relate to design process and the design of spaces. Learn how design process and consultation techniques can effectively engage communities in design and decision-making processes. Discover the characteristics of built and natural environments that create opportunities for individuals to grow and find meaning in their surroundings. Consider how environments may contribute to the development of prosperous communities with strong social networks and unique identities. Apply strategies to make collaborative work more productive and enjoyable. This course will explore practical and contemporary theoretical approaches to the relationship between design and people.
